Wow...

I just sat down and watched history go down right before my eyes! Watching Raphael Palmeiro collect his 3000th hit in the Major Leagues was quite enjoyable. To tell you the truth, I was never the biggest fan of his, but when I sit back now and look what he has accomplished in his career and life, I am speechless! 3000 hits, 566 HR's, gold gloves, All-Star games, etc. He is one of only a handful of players to have 3000 hits and 500 HR. I know some people don't consider sports accomplishments earth shattering and calling athletes heroes can be a stretch when you know that people are fighting for our freedom at home and abroad. But seeing thousands of OPPOSING fans stand and give him a several minute standing ovation just shows how great he is.

Which brings me to my point...I want to impact people like him! Sure it probally will not be on a baseball field or a football field, but over the course of my life I want to positively impact people and bring a smile to their face so that they stop and think back in their life and say, "That Matt LeBlanc, he is/was a good guy!" I don't know if I've left that impact on people yet, I hope I have, but only time will tell. That's all I want, nothing more, nothing less. That will be my 3000th hit!
